YMCA Commemorative Acrylic Art Piece
For my local YMCA, we came across a large quantity of historic photos and documents that we wanted to share with our members. As such, I came up with the idea for a large collage, since many of the artifacts were no larger than a credit card. I digitized all of the photos I wished to use, and then placed them over the YMCA's logo to form the overall shape. Since the photos were of varying quality and colors, I added a sepia filter so that they all fit together and did not look out of place. My initial design did not include the "the" as part of the sign; however, to be closer in line with brand compliance, I added it after the fact. Each of the three pieces were ordered and professionally printed on acrylic sheets, and are to be mounted using stand-offs so that it floats off the wall. All together, the sign is 6 feet wide and 5 feet tall, making it my largest project yet.
