My name is Jacob Brodeur, and I am a second year student at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). My major is Humanities, Computing, and Design B.S., with a focus in graphic design and web design and development. Additionally, I have a passion for public transit and urbanism, which is why I have chosen to concentrate and take courses in Urban Studies at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad at Copenhagen.
In my free time, I enjoy playing board games and hanging out with friends, as well as biking rail trails and exploring nature. At RIT, I am a member of our Outing Club, going on weekly hikes and exploring the greater Rochester region.
I am proudly an Eagle Scout, and for those curious, my Eagle Scout Project was to revitalize a memorial garden at a nature sanctuary that had falled into disrepair over the years. The garden was in memory of an Eagle Scout who had passed in the early 2000s, and I wanted to make it a nice space to come and reflect and remember him. For this, I designed the space around the central memorial rock and added flowers that lead the eye towards the center with their height and shape. Moreover, I built a custom bench to allow visitors a comfortable place to sit.
I am currently seeking an internship for the summer of 2025 in either the graphic design or UI/UX profession (bonus points for a transit or urbanism-oriented company). I wish to further develop my skills beyond the classroom setting and apply them to real-world problems. While I live in Central Massachusetts, I am open to relocation and am actively looking for positions all along the East Coast and throughout the Midwest.
